Four docks stayed live through the whole install. The sequencing, not the engineering, was the hard part.

What 2.4 MW over four live loading docks actually took

2.4 MW across four loading docks that never stopped receiving freight. The array was the straightforward half of the job.

Working around freight

  • Roof sections released one dock at a time, on a rolling seven-day cycle agreed with the site's logistics manager.
  • Crane lifts scheduled between 04:00 and 06:00, before the first inbound trailers.
  • No dock closed for more than three consecutive days at any point.

What it cost in time

Sequencing added five weeks to a nineteen-week build. It removed every hour of lost throughput, which was the number the owner actually cared about.

The engineering lesson is smaller than the logistics one: on a live industrial site the constraint is almost never the roof.
