In 1998 our founder was an electrical engineer auditing solar arrays that never produced what they were sold to produce. Cascade was built backwards from the meter: measure first, engineer against the measurement, install with our own crews, then answer for the output.

Twenty-eight years, in order
1998
Founded in Spokane
One engineer, one van, residential retrofits across Spokane County.
2004
First commercial array
A 180 kW roof on a grain co-operative — the first time we filed our own interconnection.
2011
Monitoring desk opens
We stop relying on manufacturer portals and start metering every system ourselves.
2016
Portland and Boise
Two branches, both staffed with W-2 crews rather than local subcontractors.
2026 — Now
2.4 MW at Fairview
Our largest single install to date, live and running 4% above modelled yield.
2021
Storage becomes standard
Every residential design is priced with a battery option and a critical-load subpanel.

Every installer is a Cascade employee on payroll, trained in-house and named on the commissioning report.

Residential included, even where no jurisdiction asks for it.

We hire installers, then keep them
Every crew member is W-2, paid through the winter, and trained on our own roofs. Average tenure is nine years.
